POSITION SUMMARY:

The SMT Operator will be responsible for both automated and manual surface mount manufacturing (SMT). This includes the set-up, operation, and adjustment for all SMT equipment. The role will meet/maintain equipment company standards and qualitity assurance/documentation.  

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Independently operates SMT automatic assembly equipment: Screen Printer, SPI, Pick & Place, Reflow Oven and X-Ray machine to produce high quality complex circuit board assemblies.
• Responsible to setup, read and understand BOM / Set-up lists, Assembly Instructions, and assembly notes.
• Prepares and loads components to feeders.
• Familiar with the ESD handling procedures of sensitive electronic devices.
• Maintains a helpful and supportive attitude.
• Other duties may be assigned
• May require overtime

GUIDELINES (ABILITIES, KNOWLEDGE, AND SKILLS):

• Ability to follow directions and procedures accurately and efficiently
• Ability to be trained and learn the operations of equipment
• Possesses strong attention to detail
• Good computer skills, and MS Office
• Good communication skills both verbal and written
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs, walk, bend, push/pull, carry and reach a full load magazine of PCBA. The operator will need to unload/load PCBA every 20 to 30 minutes depending on the assembly part number

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

• Highschool diploma/equivalent or higher education
• 1 year experience in Solder Mount Technology (SMT) is preferred
