Title: Welding Engineering Technician
Location: Chattanooga, TN
Job Type: Fulltime (Onsite)
ABOUT THE POSITION
This position requires a detailed knowledge of welding codes specifications and procedures. Including the ability to write specification and welding procedure. Detailed knowledge of the following GMAW, SMAW, FCAW, SAW, GTAW, hard automation and robotics. And experience with equipment financial justification.
Key Activities & Responsibilities
Qualifications:
• Associates degree in Welding Technology with a minimum of 0-2 years of experience or 15 years welding related work
• Experience with code work (AWS) required (ASME, API 1104 preferred)
• Typically, works with minimal direct supervision, conferring with superiors as needed. Has appreciable latitude for independent action or decision.
• The ability to be a Change agent
• Work closely with Design groups to understand the manufacturing requirements for welded assemblies
• Understanding of 3D modeling program viewers to interrogate solid model designs. Ability to use Solidworks and AutoCAD a plus
• Microsoft Office Skills
• Organized and detail oriented
• Highly motivated and self-directed
• Analytical thinker and problem-solver
• Excellent communication, writing, and computer skills
• Ability to create, design, and analyze blueprints and drawings
• Project Management
