Job Info POSITION - Union: Utility III

LOCATION: BGC - MA - Pittsfield
STARTING HOURLY RATE: $31.69
Job Summary Under the supervision of qualified personnel. perform or assist with utility compliance work on underground gas facilities, may operate excavating equipment and specific company equipment to facilitate the installation and repair of gas mains and services including gas facility mark outs, conducting gas leak investigation and other emergency response during business and outside of normal business hours as an "on-call" first responder. Provides support for other departments as needed.
Major Roles and Responsibilities - Provide manual labor, lifting shoveling and jack hammering to support excavation work
- Operates dump trucks, back hoes and attachments and other motorized equipment
- Supports distribution work crews as a team member
- Provides dig safe mark out of gas facilities
- Performs gas leak investigation and survey compliance work
Skills and Requirements Education & Experience/Training Required: - High school diploma or equivalent GED
- Valid Driver's License / Class B
- Clean driving record
- Must be able to secure DOT Certification
- Must have valid hoisting license
- Residency within the Pittsfield distribution area
