Surgical Technologist Traveler at UCHealth summary:
A Surgical Technologist Traveler prepares operating rooms by setting up instruments, equipment, and supplies, assists surgeons during procedures by passing instruments and managing surgical tools, and ensures specimen processing for laboratory delivery. This role requires certified training in surgical technology, at least one year of experience, and certification in basic life support. The position involves working in a fast-paced clinical environment across multiple hospital sites, supporting perioperative care including PACU and operating room levels.

- Will also float to Grandview Hospital
FTE: Full Time, 0.9, 72.00 hours per pay period (2 weeks)
Shift: Days
Pay: $44.00 per hour plus travel package/stipend
LOCAL Traveler contract options available for those who reside within 75 miles
13 week assignments available - extension options
Minimum Requirements: - Graduated from Surgical Technologist program
- State Surgical Assistant or Surgical Technologist registration
- 1-year experience
- BLS - BLS through the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer with card in-hand before start date.

- Ensures good working order of equipment and instruments. Assists with preparing, transporting, positioning and draping patients.
- Passes instruments to physician during surgery. Continually accounts for number and location of instruments and supplies during surgery.
- Receives and processes specimens for delivery to the laboratory.
- Within scope of job, requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgement and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and take appropriate action
Perioperative: - Direct care includes practice Perioperative, PACU (Post Anesthesia Care Unit) or Operating Room levels of care
- AORN and ABPANC core curriculum and certifications standards are included in evidence-based care models
