Job Summary
Join our dedicated team as a Registered Nurse (RN) focusing on Outpatient Oncology and Telephone Triage. In this role, you will provide crucial support to patients calling for assistance, using established guidelines to assess their needs, coordinate appointments, and ensure they receive the appropriate care. Your clinical expertise will help guide patients and their families through their healthcare journey, while you collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to deliver exceptional service.

Manage call volume by effectively integrating and maximizing resources and services across multiple departments.
Thoroughly document all interactions, utilizing appropriate nursing assessment standards.
Identify patient and family learning needs, providing education in an understandable manner.
Communicate necessary educational feedback to the healthcare team.
Coordinate patient appointments with designated offices and agencies.
Conduct follow-up calls within 24 hours of initial contact, documenting any needed referrals.
Monitor call activity and suggest improvements for efficient service delivery.
Foster strong customer service relationships by anticipating needs and providing effective solutions.
Demonstrate positive communication and professionalism in all interactions.
Maintain a proactive and positive attitude within the department, embracing change and contributing to improvements.
Perform additional duties as needed.
Supervisory/Management Responsibilities
This role does not include management responsibilities and will report to a supervisor, manager, director, or executive.
Minimum Requirements
Education: Associate degree in Nursing; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
Experience: Minimum of one (1) year experience as a registered nurse.
In Lieu Of
Completion of the Prisma Health Nurse Residency Program or an equivalent residency may substitute for RN experience.
One year of licensed practical nurse (LPN) experience may also substitute for RN experience.
Required Certifications, Registrations, Licenses
Licensed as a Registered Nurse in South Carolina.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Basic computer and mathematical skills.
