Job Description

Project Manager / Estimator

Thornton, CO (Relocators Encouraged to Apply)

$110,000 – $170,000 Base Salary + Company Vehicle + Annual Bonus + Project Milestone Bonuses + 100% Health Insurance (Employee) + Matching 401k + Phone & Laptop + Career Progression + Training

Are you a Heavy Civil Project Manager or Estimator looking for a leadership role with autonomy, impact, and career elevation built in?

Are you ready to work for a legacy-driven infrastructure firm where you’ll be empowered to make key critical decisions that will determine the success of sophisticated projects, report directly to ownership, and take your career toward executive leadership?

The Opportunity

This isn’t a generic PM/Estimator gig — it’s a launchpad.

You’ll join Hamon Infrastructure, a Colorado-based GC with over 30 years of success delivering complex bridge, roadway, and utility projects throughout Colorado.

You'll step into a central role managing major DOT and municipal projects, while also contributing to preconstruction and bidding strategy when required.

Reporting directly to the owners, you’ll have the trust, tools, and support to shape projects — and eventually, operations — your way.

This is a growth-track position designed for a driven individual who thrives on accountability, autonomy, delivering results, and wants to be recognized for this success.

The Role Breakdown

  • Operate primarily as a Project Manager while supporting Estimating during key bidding cycles.
  • Manage full lifecycle of complex projects across heavy civil, bridges, structures, and roadway construction.
  • Lead projects including client management & stakeholder liaison, CPM scheduling, project financials, and cross-functional team coordination.
  • Collaborate closely with internal teams, accounting, and ownership for strategic decisions.
  • Work directly with government clients such as DOT, Federal Government, local municipalities as the trusted face of the project.
  • Office-based in Thornton, CO with visits to job sites and client meetings.
  • There is no travel required in this position.

What You Need

  • Experience project managing or estimating heavy civil construction projects — bridges, highways, utilities, water infrastructure, concrete, excavation.
  • Proven success working on government projects (Federal, State, County, Municipal).
  • Ability to build and execute a CPM schedule.
  • Comfortable switching between project management-focused execution and office-based estimating duties.
  • Tech-savvy and willing to learn tools such as HCSS, Primavera P6, Spectrum/Viewpoint.
  • Must live within commutable distance to Thornton, CO — or be willing to relocate (which we can financially assist you with)
  • Must have a "3D mindset" — understand how plans, bids, and timelines convert to the physical construction of a project.

This role would suit individuals who are:

  • Ambitious Project Managers who want broader involvement in business operations, not just project execution.
  • Estimators with project delivery experience looking to stretch into field leadership and client-facing roles.
  • Hybrids who enjoy flipping between bid strategy and boots-on-the-ground leadership.
  • Driven builders who want a say in how a business grows — not just how a project ends.

Compensation & Benefits

  • $110,000 – $170,000 Base Salary
  • Company Vehicle or Vehicle Allowance
  • Annual Bonus + Project Milestone Bonuses
  • 401(k) with company match after 1 year
  • 100% Health Insurance Covered (Employee)
  • Phone, Laptop, and Full Tech Setup
  • Bespoke training and development plan
  • Career progression into broader operational leadership

Training & Development

  • Systems and onboarding training
  • On-the-job development tailored to your growth goals
  • Direct mentorship from company leadership
  • Structured path toward senior leadership and broader operational responsibility
