Job Summary
As a Pharmacist Intern at AmeriPharma, you will be expected to comply with all relevant policies, procedures, codes, and pharmacy standards. Working under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist, you will assist with tasks that do not require a licensed pharmacist to perform. The Intern Pharmacist will support licensed pharmacists in the daily operations of the pharmacy in accordance with departmental policies.
Schedule Details
- Location: On-Site (Laguna Hills, CA)
- Hours: Monday-Friday, available for shifts between 6:00 AM and 5:30 PM (any 4- to 8-hour shift, as needed)
Duties and Responsibilities
- Receive new prescription orders from authorized prescribers or individuals permitted by law.
- Consult with patients or their legal representatives about prescriptions, either before or after dispensing, or provide information regarding any medical details in the patient's medication record system.
- Identify, evaluate, and interpret prescriptions accurately.
- Ensure optimal medication prescribing in terms of indication, dosage, route, frequency, allergy history, and avoid duplication or interactions with other medications.
- Assist in the transfer of prescriptions between pharmacies, ensuring proper documentation and adherence to legal requirements.
- Participate in pharmacy-related tasks and programs, including supporting short-staffed areas and other necessary duties as directed.
- Assist in making timely changes to meet regulatory, accreditation, licensing, and government agency standards and laws.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience Requirements
- Pharmacist Intern licensure in the state of California.
- One year or more of retail pharmacy experience is preferred but not required.
