Unite Contracting is seeking Marine Electricians in Tampa, Florida, with experience in marine electrical maintenance service calls, troubleshooting, and electrical motor controls. This is a permanent, full-time job. You will provide a company truck and a gas card.
No per diem on this job. Must be willing to travel to multiple ports in the Tampa, Florida area

The ideal marine electrician will have 5 years of experience in maintenance and new construction of marine electrical work.
Schedule: Full-time, 40-60 hours weekly
Responsibilities of the Marine Electrician
Marine Electrician will perform maintenance service calls on tugboats, push boats, and crew boats, but not offshore electricians.
Perform general deck electrician work. Mount electrical equipment and wiring ways; install cable penetrations in equipment, bulkheads, and decks; cable installation; cable terminations; and cut-in and hook-up electrical work.
Test electrical characteristics, such as voltage, resistance, and phase angle, in circuits using voltmeters, ohmmeters, and phase rotation indicators.
Troubleshooting electrical equipment and circuits using appropriate test equipment to detect and effect implemented electrical maintenance, repairs, or replacements.
Rician Marine performs maintenance and repair of generators, switchboards, controllers, circuit breakers, electrical motors, distribution panels, alarms, and lighting circuits.
A Marine Electrician conducts insulation resistance measurements of electrical cables to determine their condition and recommends repairs or replacements as required.
Participates in the installation, construction, or alteration of electrical systems aboard ships, without shore electrician work.
Maintains adequate inventories of electrical spare parts and requisitions replacements as required.

As an Electrician Marine, you will be responsible for the maintenance and repair of electrical systems on marine vessels, ensuring safety and operational efficiency. Reporting to the Chief Engineer, your core skills in rigging, mechanical knowledge, and the use of hand tools will be essential. Your premium experience with electrical systems and schematics will enhance your ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues effectively. Additionally, your skills, including soldering and the use of precision measuring instruments, will enable you to meet the high standards of service expected in this role.
