Manufacturing Engineer

POSITION PURPOSE: Assists in the planning, directing, and coordinating of manufacturing processes and tooling, as well as CNC programming and machine setup.
Full-Time Shift Available: M-F ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES: \n - Assist in the development of routing instructions for new and existing jobs.
\n - Assist in improving efficiencies for new and existing work, including improvement of tooling, processes, part quality and employee training.
\n - Recommend methods of improving employee efficiency and reducing waste of material and utilities, such as restructuring, job duties, reorganizing workflow, relocating workstations and equipment and involved in purchase of equipment.
\n - Reduce tooling costs; assist in development and maintenance of control system standardizing tools.
\n - Resource for Supervisor and Technical Leads in correcting tooling and machining process problems. Assist in problem solving and troubleshooting of manufacturing problems in the manufacturing area.
\n - Develop, evaluate and improve manufacturing methods, utilizing knowledge of product design, materials, and parts, machining processes tooling and production equipment capabilities, and quality control standards.
\n - Assist in maintaining CNC department efficiency; may operate, set up machines, program for new or existing jobs, train and/or otherwise using expertise to assist in the smooth running of the CNC department.
\n - Assist the Engineering Manager in planning the use of facilities, equipment, materials and personnel to improve efficiency of operations and to identify areas of duplication.
\n - Assist the Engineering Manager in analyzing and planning requirements, workflow, layouts of equipment and workspace for maximum efficiency.
\n - Assist in estimating production time, perform time studies, evaluate the way work is performed for maximum efficiency.
\n - Setup, program and operate CNC machines as required.
\n - Perform other duties as assigned or necessary.

REQUIREMENTS: \n - A Bachelor of Science degree in an engineering discipline is a plus, or a combination of work experience and education considered
\n - Minimum of 5-10 years of experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment required
\n - Must have extensive knowledge of manufacturing processes in a manufacturing environment
\n - Manufacturing engineering experience in a high mix / high-volume environment preferred
\n - Demonstrated workflow and productivity improvements
\n - Experience using technology to improve material flow
\n - Robotic experience a plus
\n - Mastercam experience preferred
\n - Turning center with live tooling and vertical milling with 4th-axis programming and setup experience necessary
\n - Knowledge of six sigma methodology is preferred
\n - Must have strong written and verbal communication skills
\n - Strong analytical skills and ability to interpret data
\n - Strong decision making, problem solving and organizational skills

\n - Demonstrates ability to read, write, speak, hear and interpret documents and instructions from both verbal and written English.
\n - Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds safely

\n - Regularly possess manual dexterity for assembly of tooling, small parts and working with equipment and controls
\n - Vision requirements include (corrective or non) close range, distance, color, peripheral and depth
