We're seeking a passionate and driven AV Systems Engineer to play a crucial role in maintaining and optimizing our cutting-edge integrated AV systems for Convene’s 100 Stockton property in Union Square, San Francisco. The AV Support Engineer will report directly to the AV Systems Manager. What You’ll Do: We are seeking a San Francisco-based AV Systems Engineer to join the AV Systems/AV Support team at Convene who will assist in supporting our Central and West regions. As a hybrid employee, the AV Systems Engineer will be tasked with routine and critical support of worldwide AV systems within the Convene portfolio. This position reports to the AV Systems Manager and collaborates within the AV Engineering department in our efforts to troubleshoot and maintain, research and develop, and commission and certify the company’s integrated AV systems. The ideal candidate will have working experience and functional knowledge of integrated AV systems, including video distribution and control systems. Knowledge of live event audio/video operation fundamentals is desired, but not required. A keen interest in developing or honing AV integration programming skills (audio DSP, Acoustic Echo Cancellation, Crestron control systems, etc.) is highly beneficial. What You’ll Do: Manage remote and in-person work orders using internal ticketing system Claim work orders voluntarily or receive assignments from AV Systems Manager Maintain frequent communication with senior engineering and operations staff Report results, ask questions, and raise new issues Relay costs, scheduling, and instructions to staff and external vendors Complete additional tasks as needed Supervise third-party AV integration workers on-site Understand and perform internal Quality Assurance procedures Ensure proper completion of external work orders and new property openings Maintain up-to-date knowledge of Convene’s integrated AV Systems and the industry at large Work closely with AV Systems staff and on-site AV Operations team members to ensure systems are maintained and operational with minimal disruption Respond promptly and professionally to support tickets and in-person AV support tasks What We Look For: Minimum 2-4 years of experience as AV Installer/Technician for integrated systems CTS Certification preferred Experience with AV Control Systems, DSPs, and AV over IP (AVoIP) technologies; Crestron, Biamp, Extron, Cisco certifications are a plus Knowledge of testing, troubleshooting, and QA/commissioning of AV systems Fundamental networking knowledge related to AV (IP addresses, VLANs, IGMP) Ability to visualize and describe signal paths of audio, video, control, and networking Experience with audio soundboard mixers like Yamaha TF3 Good ears for audio issues (gain, EQ, filters, AEC) Attention to detail for wiring and subtle AV issues Proficiency with Mac and Windows OS Ability to follow AV engineering procedures, organize projects, and certify work completion Physical ability to perform installation tasks, including ladder work, lifting up to 50 lbs, overhead installation, and cable termination Customer-focused and hospitality-minded attitude Compensation: Salary range: $90,000 - $100,000. This role is eligible for Convene's annual incentive bonus. Salary varies based on experience and location.
